Services

Each year, PEP provides hundreds of young parents and their children with services designed to strengthen families. Clients receive the following opportunities:

Mentors - PEP matches parents with compatible volunteer mentors. These ‘trained friends’ provide support, help access community resources, provide rides to appointments, problem-solve, and model parenting skills.

Group Activities - PEP offers frequent educational and social group activities for clients. Parenting, life skills, crafts, and sewing classes are offered on a regular basis, along with seasonal parties and summer picnics. Childcare and transportation are provided.

Home Visits - PEP staff and volunteers bring valuable information and resources directly to clients’ homes. Qualifying families receive Healthy Start services, which include in-home parenting education and support.

Sewing is just one of the educational and social activities PEP offers.

Family Assistance - PEP supplies families with essential child safety items such as car seats, infant carriers, baby gates, and safety latches, and distributes other donated items. PEP can also help parents with some educational and health expenses.

Transportation - Staff and volunteers provide transportation to clients for PEP events as well as school, job, health, or parenting-related appointments in the community.

Childcare - Staff and volunteers provide childcare for clients during PEP events and school, job, health, or parenting-related appointments in the community.

Case support - PEP provides information, makes referrals, coordinates with other community resources, and advocates on behalf of clients to meet their individual needs.

Newsletters - Monthly newsletters, published in English and Spanish, give parenting tips, advertise PEP activities, list local opportunities, provide consumer safety information, and more.

If you, or someone you know might be interested in any of these services, please call PEP for more information.
